Person behind
My name is Søren Nissen, born and spent my childhood in Denmark. I have now been living for the last many years in Luxembourg. It was a bit of a coincidence and follow up on a childhood dream that brought me to Luxembourg in the first place. Cycling.
I started road cycling in 1998 at the age of 14, later switched to mountain biking. In 2018 I obtained the Luxembourgish national citizenship. I achieved significant successes during my 17-year professional offroad career, including 8 Luxembourg championship titles, 2 Danish championship titles, 4 World Cup victories, and a gold medal at the Games of the Small States of Europe.
I’ve experienced life in various countries during my profession, allowing me to compete in races across the globe and embrace different cultures along the way. I speak Danish, Luxembourgish, English, German, Italian and French.
Since my residence has been in Luxembourg over the past few years, I have completed all my training sessions here and know every corner of the country. Luxembourg offers numerous scenic, safe, and peaceful routes, ideal for e-bike tours.
During my professional cycling career, I learned lessons that reach far beyond the bike. Competing at a high level taught me the true value of teamwork — knowing when to lead, when to support, and how collective effort can achieve more than individual ambition.
I also discovered the importance of perseverance: success rarely comes overnight, but through consistent dedication, even in the face of setbacks.
Perhaps most importantly, I developed mental strength. Pushing through pain, staying focused under pressure, and maintaining confidence in difficult moments became essential not only in sport but also in life. These experiences shaped me into someone who values resilience, collaboration, and determination in every challenge I face.
